Our tech-based client is actively hiring for a Supply Chain Analyst (Buyer) I role within the west coast! This role is both a hybrid (Redmond, WA) or 100% remote (West Coast) position and will serve as the apex to pioneer the rest of the aerospace industry into providing low socio-economic families in America the opportunity to be better connected within our every changing digital world. Description:
We are looking for sharp, detail-orientated individuals who are both keen on procuring raw materials to meet with demand forecasts and have an aptitude to learn how to function as future commodity managers. As the Buyer expert, you will purchase from and manage relationships with vendors to secure aerospace-related products and services. Expertise in the subject matter, communication, and attention to detail in the context of procurement and vendor management are critical to this role. As the Buyer Expert, you will help guide a team of the brightest project managers, mathematicians, supply planners, and engineers in their pursuit of procuring, building, testing, verifying, and ultimately - launching aerospace crafts into the sky.
Buyers in this role will dip their fingers into data querying/data modeling with SQL, as well as building the knowledge of automation scripting with Python. A knowledge with SQL, data querying, or Python is a plus. As a Buyer for this team – there will be some work with software on occasion but ultimately, we are looking for Buyers who will be providing the procurement of raw goods and materials to multiple warehouses. You will be placing purchase orders with suppliers and maintain a steady flow of materials required by approved purchase requisitions or approved exposure inventory lists. There is the expectation of having the ability to manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers should they arise. Additionally, you will also help assist special projects that come up throughout the product cycle.
Day at a Glance:
- 70% procurement: placing purchase orders with suppliers
- 10% invoice trouble shooting
- 10% fulfillment: tracking shipping orders and coordinating the timely delivery of items
- 10% misc.: attending meetings, new vendor set ups, manager touchpoints etc.
HYBRID WITHIN REDMOND, WA: Physical exposure to onsite headquarters brings ample opportunities to grow into future Commodity Managers within the Aerospace industry. You will learn and develop the management skills throughout your role as the Buyer. Examples include:
• Monitor status of open orders to ensure on-time delivery of all items ordered, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of all future problems
• Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule and/or inventory changes
• Recommend and establish optimal inventory levels based on approved exposure inventory along with production and engineering schedules based on material lead times
• Coordinate material flows throughout production/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development
• Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- 1 years of Buyer/Procurement experience
- High level of communication with stakeholders, vendors
- Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel
- Excel: Ability to understand large amounts of data
- Some project management experience
- Must be a US citizen or US persons
Additional Nice-to-have Skills & Qualifications:
- Familiar with contract negotiations
- Familiar with data query, SQL, or Python
- Familiar with database administration, data-warehousing, or database migration
- Familiar with customer service (vendor relationships)
