The Philadelphia, PA site manufactures a life-saving influenza vaccine. Our product is aseptically filled into sprayers for nasal administration. The site consists of two geographic locations - a production facility at Red Lion Road in NE Philadelphia and a storage and distribution facility in Bensalem. The two facilities employ approximately 140 employees. The facilities are about 8 miles apart and both are situated close to I-95, the city of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia International Airport. Our product is sold in the US, UK, and other countries. Operations continue year-round, with the production season being in the summer (typically May–August). Our site is highly collaborative where we show our Philly pride in all we do. We work closely together, always striving to be better every day. Accountabilities:
As a Senior Packaging Engineer, you will ensure the packaging operation has critical process parameters identified, material specifications established, and that operating procedures are clear to deliver a quality product. You will lead or support process improvement efforts such as yield improvements, overall equipment efficiency (OEE) improvements, waste elimination, and cost reduction for finished goods. You will also be responsible for initiating deviations and performing/facilitating the technical investigations and assessment of impacts.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- BS in Engineering or related science
- Minimum 5 years experience in GMP or regulated production environment or equivalent post-graduate academic experience w/5 years work experience
- Expertise in packaging design, artwork design, validation, technology transfer, change control, applied statistics
- Proficiency in equipment, process/materials, maintenance, project delivery
- Solid organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Solid teamwork and communication skills (oral and written)
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- 5 years of strong leadership and project management skills
- Advanced knowledge of cGMPs and FDA policies/procedures including experience interacting with regulatory authorities
- Work effectively as a leader and /or member of cross-functional team
- Demonstrated ability to simultaneously balance multiple projects of high complexity
- Experience in Six Sigma/ analytical trouble shooting skills
- Proficiency with lean manufacturing concepts
- Technical experience in more than one discipline
- Management of multiple initiatives across a varied scope
- Proven ability to develop team dynamics as well as personnel
- Proven ability to work with all levels within the organization – locally and globally
- Master’s degree in an engineering or related scientific discipline
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification and experience working in a lean environment
