Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, American States Utility Services, Inc. contracts with the federal government to provide water and wastewater services that include operating, maintaining, renewing, replacing, and constructing new systems on military installations throughout the United States. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs drafting for capital projects using AutoCAD based on verbal instructions or sketches provided by Engineers
- Assists in ensuring that all plans are prepared in accordance with Specifications, Special Provisions, Standard Details, Drafting Standards and Approved Material List.
- Prepares AutoCAD standards and templates as required.
- Assists Engineers in preparing exhibits and compiling information for capital budgets, project status reports, project schedules.
- Prepares as-built plans of completed projects and updates system maps.
- Ability to use plotters and printers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting Technology preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of AutoCAD experience in general civil design or in public utilities design required.
- Basic knowledge of water and wastewater utilities.
- Experience AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Experience with GIS applications preferred.
- Experience with Microstation® preferred.
- Experience in the design of water distribution, storage, supply, wastewater collection facilities are highly desirable.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License issued by the state where employed
- Must take and pass Federal OSHA and/or State Mandated Safety training with annual refresher course as required by the associated regulations for this Position. Such training will be provided by company and compliance is mandatory.
- May include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping and crouching, typing, walking, reading, writing, color determination, speaking, listening, and sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
