Overview
ATCC is seeking a direct hire Project Manager onsite 5 days/wk in Frederick, MD. This position directly supports the program management office of the NCI at Frederick Central Repository operations contract. This role requires hands-on repository work, handling specimens at a range of temperatures from ambient to as low as -196C in liquid nitrogen.
Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee daily project activities, applying organizational best practices from ideation to closure.
- Process Improvement: Evaluate and improve current processes, implement new technologies, analyze large data sets, ensuring consistency and efficiency for strategic goal achievement.
- Progress Tracking and Communication: Track project progress, milestones, and metrics, compiling status summaries for transparent communication.
- Stakeholder Interaction and Consistency: Interface with stakeholders including repository staff and clients, gather data for consistency, evaluate project objectives and scope, and provide reporting to stakeholders.
- Risk, Issue, and Change Management: Identify and manage risk, issue, and change resolution, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- Hands-on repository work, handling specimens at a range of temperatures from ambient to as low as -196C in liquid nitrogen is required.
- Working knowledge of Information Management Service, Inc. (IMS) Biological Specimen Inventory (BSI) system preferred.
- PMP Preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong skills in analysis, planning and organization, and pay rigorous attention to detail to coordinate resources and activities.
- Ability to build working relationships with people in the project team and stakeholders in the wider business is vital to business success.
- Staff hired for the NCI Central Repository Program must be eligible to obtain an NIH Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card by submitting a Declaration of Federal Employment form within 60 days (about 2 months) of employment.
