What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Compliance Lead position at ATCS PLC?
ATCS is growing! We are looking for an Environment Compliance Lead based in Virginia. This role will help to ensure environmental compliance on construction projects both in the field and from the office across all of ATCS’ geographic areas.
The right candidate will be a self-starter, self-motivated and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team. Efforts could involve NEPA documentation, assessing impacts to wetlands and streams, coordination of studies for threatened and endangered species, or ensuring compliance with other environmental commitments.
- Oversight of construction operations to ensure compliance with all environmental permits and regulations; May include:
- Initial project procurement and scoping
- Field investigations
- Environmental data collection and analysis
- Agency and client coordination
- Document preparation in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
- Permitting and mitigation activities
- Inspection/implementation of erosion and sediment controls.
- Successfully manage contractors in a construction setting and perform effective agency coordination.
- Environmental field efforts as well as desktop analyses and documentation efforts.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks as well as environmental teams from diverse disciplines across ATCS's geographies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science or related discipline is required.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience of related compliance experience and the ability to obtain applicable training and certifications to perform specialty services as needed; Broad knowledge in the environmental field, with a distinct knowledge of environmental compliance across multiple markets, including transportation and other federal infrastructure efforts.
- Extensive knowledge of Virginia Department of Transportation and federal transportation policies and procedures is desired.
- Existing local agency and client relationships preferred.
- Virginia DEQ Dual Inspector certification preferred.
- Time management skills and the ability to successfully handle multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational, communication, technical writing and editorial/grammatical skills.
- Travel to project sites and offices will be required with a willingness to work overtime as needed.
The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $89,100 to 133,650 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
