Senior Architect

ATI has a current need for a Senior Architect to provide architectural design, project management, and construction administration to support renovation of biomedical research laboratories at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland.

Candidate Requirements for a Senior Architect:

• Senior Architect requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Senior Architect requires 10 years’ work experience in an Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) environment.
  • Full knowledge of National Codes, Standards, and Guidelines required; familiarity of NIH Design Requirements Manual (DRM) for Biomedical Laboratories and Animal Research Facilities is a plus.
  • Knowledge of other related professional AEC fields in order to comprehend overall project and interface with other disciplines.
  • Knowledge of the architectural planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration and code requirements. Senior Architect shall have advanced knowledge of architectural planning and design processes. 
• Experience in managing projects in occupied facilities. Senior Architect shall have specific experience managing projects in occupied healthcare and laboratory facilities.
• Understanding of applicable design codes and specification requirements.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
• Knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD software is preferable. Senior Architect shall have advanced knowledge and 10 years of experience with Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Experience with Autodesk REVIT software for Building Information Modeling is required. Senior Architect shall have 5 years of experience with Autodesk REVIT.
