What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Associate position at Atlanta Gynecology & Obstetrics, PC?
- As a Front Desk Associate at Atlanta Gynecology & Obstetrics, PC, you will be responsible for providing administrative support in a variety of areas. You will support the providers, and your colleagues through various patient flow tasks. You will be expected to complete all activities accurately, timely, and with care. Excellent communication skills are necessary to keep both the patients and the back office apprised of any delays or other issues.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes patients and visitors into the practice for their visits and verify their information
- Greet patients as they are checking out from their visit and schedule return visits
- Schedules appointments for the physicians and physician assistant to optimize patient satisfaction and provider time
- Endeavors to keep patients on schedule by reminding provider of service delays
- Assists patients with insurance papers and billing questions and collect patient balances, copays, and co-insurance
- Prepare patient charts, check patient records for completeness and proper signatures
- Receive, sort, and route all patient reports coming from outside providers, whether paper or electronic
- Cross-train to assist and cover all other front office positions when needed
- Participates in the medical office emergency routine when required and summons ambulance or EMS or assists other staff members as needed
Skills
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Proven working experience in a medical practice of two or more years a plus
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Office skills such as typing, filing, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize duties
- Social sensitivity and service-oriented
- Excellent writing, typing, grammatical, and verbal communication
- Proficiency in MS Office and Electronic Health Records software
- Preference is given to those with an Associate Degree in Medical Office Administration or a Certificate in Medical Office Administration
