What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-op/PACU RN position at Atlantic Surgery & Laser Center?
Ambulatory surgery center, specializing in ophthalmology, is seeking a qualified Pre-Op and PACU nurse to administer diligent care to outpatients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment. This position offers:

Duties:
- Assess patients prior to and after surgery
- Ensure that operative consents are signed
- Take and record vital signs
- Ensure patient readiness for surgical procedure
- Initiate and discontinue IVs
- Administer medications
- Monitor vital signs
- Document all findings in patient charts
- Answer patient questions and ensure they are comfortable
- Monitor patient condition and report any changes to the physician
- Perform interventions in cases of emergencies
Requirements/Preferences:
- Candidate must possess general clinical competency in acute patient care
- Candidate must demonstrate ability to gather pertinent medical history and provide concise instruction for pre-operative and post-operative care
- Candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment while still ensuring high quality patient care
- Previous ambulatory surgery experience is preferred but not required
- Previous ophthalmology experience is preferred but not required
- Must have a current Florida Registered Nurse license and BLS certification
- ACLS and PALS preferred but not required
- Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 or be able to provide a medical exemption from a medical doctor
