Job Summary
This position is responsible for increasing the sales and profitability for assigned categories. We are looking for someone who has previous convenience store knowledge with an entrepreneurial spirit. The perfect candidate is someone that is flexible, can handle fast paced change and able to “get their hands dirty” with whatever is asked of them. This is a position in which 60% of time is spent in the field supporting operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Strong understanding of the convenience store industry and/or liquor stores
- Must have prior experience with Beer, Wine and Liquor.
- Manages key vendor relationships including but not limited to responding to vendor requests, contract negotiations, pricing discrepancies, and troubleshooting any issues.
- Create an actionable strategy for assortment, price & promotions.
- Works with merchandising manager to ensure promotions and POP are developed for the sales plan period.
- Monitor performance across assigned categories using multiple sources of data.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitive market.
- Create and maintain by-store planograms
- Work collaboratively with operations to develop programs that supports the regionality of the chain.
- Introduces new products and programs to drives sales within the category.
- Review and negotiate costs to ensure full margin potential.
- Visit stores on a weekly basis with work with managers on assigned categories.
- Research competitors and suggest appropriate pricing and promotional activities.
