What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Support Representative position at Atlas Copco North America LLC?

Provides prompt technical support for a portfolio of products manufactured or marketed by nano-purification solutions, for the compressed air & gas purification markets. The role involves remote troubleshooting of technical issues and providing remedial and long-term solutions in keeping with the high level of customer support synonymous with nano. The role will include regular off-site visits to customer installations to support our distributors and OEM customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Point of contact for product technical issues providing a response within an agreed timeframe
- Work with customers to troubleshoot technical issues and provide remedial actions or solutions to keep the product operational and the customer satisfied
- Be available to travel to the customer's site, if necessary, in North America including Mexico & Canada
- Work with the Engineering teams if needed, across various manufacturing units, to undertake root cause analysis and provide corrective actions to customers when necessary
- Produce site visit or technical reports covering issues and actions taken to resolve the problem
- Raise and execute potential warranty claims in line with the company warranty policy
- Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers.
- Any other tasks or support as required to provide exceptional customer technical support
What we expect of you?
- 4-year technical and/or mechanical engineering degree, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of direct industry experience; Hands on experience with the ability to repair compressed air treatment and gas generation products
- Mechanical, electrical and/or pneumatic system experience is required
- Ability to work independently in the field and travel with short notice for emergency purposes
- Customer focused with a desire to respond to requests or technical issues in a timely manner and provide a high level of customer service
- Self-motivated with the ability to work on multiple technical support issues, with limited supervision
- Analytical mindset and a good problem solver
- Good communicator (both verbally and written). Ability to produce clear reports as required
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
