About the role
We're looking to add a highly motivated, detail-oriented HR Manager to our team to support our rapidly growing organization. You will be responsible for building and providing seamless HR support and services across the organization. Successful candidates will have a broad range of experience in state and federal employment laws, compliance, compensation/payroll management, benefits administrations, on-boarding of new employees as well as talent acquisition, management, and development. You'll be working closely with the CFO as well as colleagues across the entire organization.
Key responsibilities
- Compliance & auditing. Ensure compliance with statutory federal and state employment laws and regulations, including initial and ongoing registration with relevant state and local regulatory agencies
- Reporting & records. Generate and report on People Operations metrics, such as headcount planning and turnover. Ensure accurate, up-to-date employee records in HRIS and other systems are maintained. Advise on/implement new HR tooling as needed
- Policies & procedures. Partner with the senior leadership team to create and implement new processes, systems, and procedures
- Benefits support. Support benefits and 401(k) administration, including: handling employee enrollment and questions, supporting open enrollment, and researching new benefits and perks
- Employee relations. Manage employee concerns, help employees navigate changes, or resolve conflicts; ensure everyone continues to feel motivated and safe in our environment
- Employee engagement. Conduct employee pulse surveys, stay interviews, and other activities to measure employee sentiment and implement programs to enhance employee engagement
- Performance management. Implement and support an ongoing performance review process and assist with performance related concerns as needed
Required skills & experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field
- 4-6 years of HR experience in a high-growth technology company, preferably at a startup with a distributed or remote workforce
- Has experience researching, drafting, and implementing HR policy, including communicating with legal counsel and team members
- Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Impeccable personal integrity and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise impeccable judgement while working with highly sensitive data and information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a diversity of people in a high-touch, personalized manner
- Strong interpersonal skills, an approachable style, and the ability to navigate complex relationships and have difficult conversations
- Superb organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and sense of urgency
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to manage rapidly shifting, competing priorities
- Experience with Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as HRIS platforms; desire and ability to learn new technology quickly
Preferred experience
- Experience building HR functions with a company that has scaled from sub-50 to 200 employees. Venture-backed technology start-up is preferred
- Sound working knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including disability and family leave laws
The salary range for this remote role is $55,000 to $65,000 and final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise.
