About the Role

• Gather and remove litter.
• Use hand tools, both manual and powered.
• Provide onsite general maintenance duties such as changing lightbulbs, performing minor repairs, and performing minor facilities related projects.
• Operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws.
• Water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
• Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers.

• Rake, mulch, and compost leaves.
• Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
• Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, or benches, using hand or power tools.

• Ability to establish and maintain professional and constructive interpersonal relationships.

• Must be knowledgeable and proficient in power tools and hand tools common to groundskeeping.

• Must be able to work independently.

Required Education and Experience

• High school degree or equivalent
• One (1) year’s relevant experience in a commercial setting.

• Work occurs inside and outside in varying weather conditions and in potentially extreme temperatures.
• Must be able to perform the physical and mental functions necessary to complete essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Verbal and non-verbal communication in quiet and noisy environments.
