What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) position at Atlas Search LLC?
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our client’s outpatient clinic team in a walk-in setting. This clinic, affiliated with one of New York City's top hospitals, provides high-quality care to patients in a convenient and accessible manner.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Triage: Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting to the walk-in clinic, including collecting health histories, performing physical exams, and assessing vital signs. Triage patients based on acuity and collaborate with the healthcare team to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Patient Education: Provide education to patients and their families on various health topics, including preventative care, chronic disease management, medication administration, and follow-up care instructions. Ensure that patients have a clear understanding of their diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care responsibilities.
- Clinical Procedures: Perform clinical procedures within the scope of nursing practice, such as wound care, medication administration, venipuncture, IV therapy, and point-of-care testing. Adhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Collaborative Care: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and facilitate interdisciplinary communication. Participate in care conferences, case reviews, and team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment plans, and care coordination efforts.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR) system. Ensure that all documentation adheres to legal and regulatory requirements, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement projects to enhance the delivery of care and optimize patient outcomes. Identify areas for improvement in clinic workflows, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes, and contribute ideas for process enhancements and quality measures.
- Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs throughout the healthcare experience. Address patient concerns, facilitate communication with healthcare providers, and empower patients to actively participate in their care decisions.
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of New York
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Please note- The annual base salary range is $80k to $95k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
