What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMT Field Technician II position at Atlas Technical Consultants?

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform field density tests of soils and asphalt
Collect samples using coring equipment
Perform field concrete testing, including slump, air content, and temperature
Prepare electronic and paper daily reports
Work with project managers and senior technicians to ensure project specifications are followed
Perform routine sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt and assist with more complex tasks, as required
Minimum Requirements:
2 years experience working in the construction industry
Experience reading and comprehending plans, specifications and test procedures
Working knowledge of concrete, soils, base and asphalt pavements
Highway or building construction experience and a proven history of working well with contractors and owners to accomplish construction tasks is preferred
Must have a valid driver’s license
The ability to lift 50-75 pounds
Comfortable working up to 12 hours per days outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability for body to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Ability to achieve the safety training needed in order to work in uneven terrain, from ladders or lifts, in confined spaces, or supported trenches
Technical Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years of construction materials testing experience
Has following certifications: Level 1A or Level 1B
Has or able to obtain the SB101 and SB102
Has or able to obtain ACI Concrete Field/Strength Testing Technician
Other Miscellaneous Qualities:
Ability to travel, if so what 20% of the time
Ability to work evening and nights as needed
Must be willing to transition from field testing and inspection duties to laboratory testing responsibilities as needed
