Job Summary :

Atlas Technical Consultants is looking for a self-assured, reliable commercial construction project manager to represent Cobb County PARKS (the Owner) in various construction projects.

You should be able to work well within a team and also with external vendors. The top candidate should have an analytical mind as well as good organizational, time management, problem solving and communication skills.

The ability to understand, establish, and maintain budges and schedules are also a must. You will report to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Represent the owner in managing all aspects of construction projects from conceptual phase through close-out and warranty.
• Build strong relationships with the owner, designers, contractors, vendors, permitting and inspection authorities, and consultants to enable the satisfactory resolution of any issues and completion of the project.
• In coordination with Cobb County Procurement Services, prepare and process Invitations to Bid (ITBs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and other bid documents for design consultants, contractors, vendors and the like.
• Prepare for and conduct pre-bid, pre-construction, design and construction progress, and other meetings as necessary to properly manage the project.
• Review contractor and designer applications for payment.
• Review and approve change order requests related to project design and construction.
• Communicate with and provide information to the owner, as needed.
• Work with construction manager to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Track and manage the project budget and timeline. Work with the contractor and construction manager to ensure that all construction activities align with the established timeline and budget.
• Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field and / or equivalent working experience of a minimum of five years.

Technical Requirements :

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Proven working experience in commercial construction project management.
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes.

• Ability to plan and see the big picture.
• Competent in conflict and crisis management.
• Leadership and human resources management skills.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
