Primary Duties
1. Evaluates and resolves complex payment exceptions to correct postings to customer accounts. Transfers funds from suspense accounts to customer accounts, research misapplied payments, and transfers payments. Communicates with banking vendors to resolve issues and ensure timely posting of payments. (70%)
2. Compiles weekly and daily Oracle reports and works daily with the Cash Recon team to research and determine correct accounts to post payments to. (10%)
3. Processes customer correspondence. Prepares written responses, verifies electronic billing processes, and completes billing address updates to prevent delivery errors. (5%)
4. Transfers bank draft payments using a multi-step process to ensure proper accounting. Investigates returned checks for customer payments. Reverses NSF charges and late fees as needed. (5%)
5. Collaborates with Energy Assistance as needed to ensure proper posting of funds received from a multitude of state utility assistance agencies. (5%)
6. Assists with the Cash Recon team daily to report incorrectly scanned payment items and other vendor issues. Will also assist with other research as needed. (5%)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level:
Requires Bachelor's degree in business or related field and a minimum of one year demonstrated proficiency in the Revenue Management Coordinator role, and successful completion of the Specialist Progression Assessment; or
A general educational knowledge acquired through a high school diploma, or a General Educational Diploma (GED) and three years related experience.
Problem Solving/Independent Judgment:
Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems independently. Can work with limited supervision by relying on experience and some degree of independent judgment. Can interpret procedures and policies to determine the best approach to achieve the desired outcome.
Communication Skills:
Ability to communicate well with internal and external customers both written and verbally. Sought out or assigned to provide guidance, training and technical assistance to junior level employees.
Numeric Skills:
Requires the ability to apply mathematical skills to everyday problems.
Computer Skills:
Working knowledge of various software applications to create documents, spreadsheets, or presentations. Ability to use specialized Atmos software and vendor software.
Work Conditions:
Works in an office environment. Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
