We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation/Robotics and Controls Engineer to join our Manufacturing Operations team. As an Automation and Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and implementing advanced technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical expertise, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and optimize manufacturing processes: Research design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment, systems integration. Assist in the preparation of budgets and estimate overall costs and justifications for initiatives. Select, design, and coordinate the design of equipment involving Cap-Ex projects and lead Custom Machine Design and Machine Build ambitions of the Company. Facilitate the installation, start-up, and qualification of same to assure project goals are met. This will involve a combination of internal and external resources dependent upon the scope of the initiative. Troubleshoot and diagnose control systems and network problems and drive to a solution. Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement. Design and implement new process or process enhancements to optimize Safety, productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency. Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability of products. Lead resolution for automation and Controls issues impacting operations in Molding, Machining, Welding, Surface Treatment and Assembly areas involving existing and new product or process launch to achieve desired Safety, quality, speed, timing, OEE, Uptime, and equipment functionality levels through data collection and analysis. Utilize design and visualization tools to model and convey automation concepts and proposals. Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment using AutoCAD Lead Engineering Controls in ensuring corrective actions and preventative actions Provide technical support and guidance to operations teams. Create and maintain accurate documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and training materials. Conduct training sessions to ensure proper understanding and implementation of manufacturing processes. Must be able to program Allen Bradley PLCs, Drives, HMIs. Networking in IP and Modicon environments Panel design -- UL508A experience a plus Electrical distribution systems design Must be able to program Fanuc Robot LR-10iA/10 Experience and Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or computer engineering Ability to act as an integrator of hardwires and software in delivering meaningful outcomes of various systems. Studio 5000 Factory Talk Panel View Plus Experience in Human Machine Interfaces, including FT RSView, Wonderware, and Think'N'Do. Knowledge and programming skills needed for Allen Bradley ControlLogix, SCADA, and Batch. OSI-PI historian, SQL database, and VisualBasic would be a plus. Ability to read/write Basic and Lua script is a plus. Electrical panel Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate within a team, across disciplines, and interface with clients Ability to lead a project team by communicating essential information and providing interdisciplinary team building. Troubleshoot and maintain Ethernet, ControlNet, Allen-Bradley Remote I/0, and DeviceNet communication networks. Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and combustion control systems.
