What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant clinic position at ATSU?
Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking applications for a full-time Dental Assistant to work at the Mesa, Arizona Clinic.
Duties & Reponsibilities :
- Assist students and / or faculty chairside.
- Maintain supply levels.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of operatories used in the surgery department.
- Maintain suction Lines and DUWL.
- Weekly meetings with students.
- Responsible for clinic department closure. Transport instruments to sterilization.Computer / monitor shutdown.Close vertical blinds.
Turn off NO.Organize operatories, etc. as assigned / necessary.
- Process biopsies (oral / perio surgery).
- Participate in staff meetings and other departmental meetings.
- Provide feedback on supply usage and possible cost savings measures.
- Continuting education course attendance.
- CPR certification course to maintain current CPR certification.
Education & Experience :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have - years previous dental assisting experience, CDA preferred.
- At least one year axiUm Ascend software experience.
- Knowledgeable in OSHA standards, aseptic procedures, HIPAA regulations, sterilization, infection control, and all dental procedures and supplies.
- Professional appearance and strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills a must.
- Must be flexible, able to change assignments with little direction.
- Must work well independently and in a group environment.
