JOB OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for a Culinary Manager/Chef who has the desire to empower our resident’s lives through their culinary skills. Your position as the Culinary Manager/Chef is to oversee the quality of the nutritional services we provide, plan, organize, develop and direct the operations of the Culinary Department and to create tasty and appetizing meals. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- As The Culinary Manager/Chef, you will assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Nutrition & Culinary Services (NCS), its programs and activities.
- Coordinate food services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Nursing, Environmental, Activity and Social Services, etc.).
- Assist in developing and maintaining written food services policies and procedures.
- Assist the NCS staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
- Participate in resident meetings and address resident concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Develop, implement and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the NCS Department.
- Interview and hiring of new NCS staff for the department.
- Determine departmental staffing requirements necessary to meet the NCS Department needs, and assign a sufficient number of NCS Staff for each meal service time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Culinary Degree, Associate Degree or certification in Food Science nutrition, dietetics, or related field preferred.
- Food Safety Manager Certification required, can obtain after hire.
- Experience in a senior setting preferred, but not required. Experience managing staff a plus.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
