What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Manager position at Audi North Orlando?
The parts manager is responsible for the parts inventory and the results of that department. As such, the manager controls a major portion of the dealership’s investment, and, through availability, influences the capability of the service department and body shop to provide service.
The position requires an individual with a knowledge of parts, good planning and administrative skills, and the ability to lead his department.
Essential Duties:
Maintain efficient parts operation; develop merchandising and contact systems to aggressively promote sales to all markets and customers; develop systems that encourage use of the dealership parts department by outside purchasers; define and utilize a rational, flexible stock ordering procedure; develop systems for proper and reasonable stocking of parts; develop systems to minimize “at counter” time of technician; develop systems for “at counter” treatment of the retail customer and wholesale customer; supervise department housekeeping, maintenance, and safety.
Assure a profitable operation; forecast parts sales, gross, and expenses monthly; review D.O.C. on daily basis; maximize gross profit by effective ordering of parts to insure maximum parts return allowance; understand and use of principles of pricing, availability, shipping, return and credit policies; prepare stock orders and complete paper work accurately and on time; return parts appropriately and within return policy guidelines; maintain close control of departmental cost.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
