We’re searching for a Senior InfoSec Site Reliability Engineer with a focus on Client Platform Engineering to help ensure the integrity and availability of our enterprise fleet of Ubuntu, Mac, and Windows laptops, and InfoSec/Enterprise infrastructure services.
In this role, you will
- Plan, design, and implement scalable solutions to manage Aurora's physical and virtual client platforms (Ubuntu, Mac, Windows)
- Partner with IT Support, InfoSec, and Developer Experience on strategy and implementation of client platform management solutions
- Ensure client platforms have appropriate security patches, configuration, and software packages through base image creation, provisioning scripts, and ongoing device management
- Research, implement, test, and rollout required configuration and software changes to client platforms
- Handle escalations from IT Support, with an emphasis on mentoring and empowering IT Support to address similar problems
- Participate in the InfoSec SRE oncall rotation supporting InfoSec services
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of system administration, device lifecycle management, or cloud SRE experience with a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
- Extensive expertise with Windows, Mac, or Linux system administration and device lifecycle management.
- Strong change management skills, including rollout planning and communication, and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Experience with automation and tool development, preferably using Go or Python.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Chef.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, prioritization, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of security best practices and system hardening, especially those related to client management
Desirable Qualifications
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that drive executional impact at scale.
- Experience with automating testing for imaging, provisioning, and configuration management
- Experience with deploying configuration management infrastructure like Puppet or OSQuery/Fleet
- Experience in running internal package repositories (eg: aptly)
- Experience in cloud computing environments (AWS, GCP, etc)
- Understanding of: network security, client endpoint security concepts, and industry best practices across many fields of security
The base salary range for this position is $132k-$198k per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
