What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Assistant position at Ava Enterprises Inc?
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for helping with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.
**This is an in office position**
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Employee orientation, development, and training logistics and recordkeeping
- HR filing system (hard and soft copies)
- Ensures smooth communication with employees and timely resolutions to queries.
- Recruiting and staffing logistics
- Assist with employee relations.
- Company-wide committee facilitation (if needed, social committee)
- Communication between the company and employees (holiday emails etc)
- Benefits administration and recordkeeping under benefit brokers guidance
- Employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting (with Warehouse Managers)
- Employee services as needed.
- Regular attendance is an essential job function.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Maintain strict confidentiality and communicate as needs arise.
- Assist HR Manager in policy formulation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, project planning software
- Must possess the ability to think analytically and derive methods to enhance the processes in a dynamic and high stress environment.
- Organizational skills including the ability to plan effectively, prioritize a variety of tasks and meet critical deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate leadership in job performance by example, problem solve and resolve conflicts, are critical.
- Self-directed and independent individual capable of identifying needs within the company.
- Highly self-motivated and problem-solver.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA degree required.
- A proven track record of professional and/or educational experience

- High ethical standards and ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
- Good general health, ability to withstand stress of long hours and constantly changing tasks.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED:

Pay Range $18-$23 an hour
