ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for understanding, managing and performing the daily operations of the Retail Department, along with overseeing staff goals and performance.
This position will focus on growing new loan and deposit relationships while working toward sales goals, customer retention, and staff development.

ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Supervise, provide work direction and complete scheduling for all retail staff
- Perform cash drawer audits, conduct performance appraisals, and facilitate new employee training and / or mentoring
- Participate and lead all employees in the bank's Retail North Star program and sales goals
- Perform Universal Banker I, II, and III duties, including consumer lending
- Serve as a point of contact / have working knowledge of troubleshooting and servicing coin machines, money handling machines, ITMs, ATMs and mechanics of the drive-up equipment
- Maintain an open line of communication with the Market President
- Assist with more complex customer issues
- Assist Director of Retail Banking with specific duties as needed
Requirements :
ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER ROLE QUALIFICATIONS :
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years related experience and / or training
- Prior experience managing a department and / or groups of people required
Other Skills and Abilities
- Strong math skills; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, speak clearly to customers and employees
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain a complete understanding of regulatory and compliance policies and procedures
- Demonstrate a lead by example mentality
- Be able to work flexible hours and shifts
- Travel to / from and work in multiple locations
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is responsible for supervising staff in accordance with the bank's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees;
planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and taking corrective action with employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
