Avanceon is hiring an experienced Controls Engineer to join our Engineering Team as a Technical Lead.

The Technical Lead role works with and supports the customers' internal project team throughout the life cycle of the project, with the goal of ensuring the electrical and controls that vendors implement as part of the project follows and conform to pre-defined standards.

Responsibilities

• Bridge the gap between the customer's internal project team and project vendors
• Work with vendors to make sure their designs are up to customer standards, especially safety standards
• Identify gaps in equipment being integrated and plant infrastructure
• Create budgets and write RFPs for vendors to bid against
• Attend and proactively participate in meetings and represent the customer's best interest

Technical Requirements

• Previous experience as a controls engineer
• Ability to generate requests for proposals and review design documentation and drawings
• Understanding of electrical standards
• Understand industrial communication networks and design
• Perform installation oversite

Other Requirements

• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask
• Ability to recognize and raise concerns with a high sense of urgency
• Predict roadblocks and successfully mitigate risks
• This position can be local or remote but requires project-related travel to customer locations
