What we are looking for...
A Hotel Manager who will provide leadership and management for all operational hotel personnel to ensure a world-class guest experience at four boutique AvantStay hotels: The Marley, El Cid, The Westley, and The Monkey Tree. This person will accept responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of hotel guests and employees. They will be accountable for all personnel actions, assets, and personal property and the end results of their use. This position will have a primary focus on ensuring 100% guest readiness and satisfaction by directly managing hotel personnel and ensuring hotel-related contractors complete their work in a manner consistent with the high standards of the AvantStay brand.
What You'll Do...
- Train staff to successfully perform guest service procedures in accordance with company and brand standards (e.g., greeting, scripts, pre-assignment of rooms, etc.).
- Train staff to successfully perform all functions for guest service and for handling upset guests who are dissatisfied with the products and services they received.
- Personally handle difficult situations involving upset guests. Attempt to resolve all issues of poor guest service before guests leave the property.
- Personally respond to guest complaint letters, Guest Assistance, Reviews, and comment cards in accordance with company and brand standards.
- Receive satisfactory scores for Guest Satisfaction and service scores, and take action to correct any deficiencies.
- Properly administer company policies and procedures for human resources management, payroll administration, personnel transactions, and fair treatment of employees.
- Provide leadership by conducting business in a professional manner and in accordance with all company policies including standards of conduct, business ethics, and conflicts of interest.
- Receive satisfactory scores for employee satisfaction surveys and take corrective action to correct any deficiencies; maintain an acceptable level of employee turnover.
- Ensure a satisfactory guest experience and protect the company’s physical assets by maintaining the physical condition of the hotel in accordance with established quality control standards and safety regulations.
- Manage the preventative maintenance and quick-fix programs in accordance with company standards.
- Receive satisfactory scores for product quality and take action to correct any deficiencies.
What You'll Bring...
- 3 years experience in hotel management and/or 2 years managerial experience in property management, with multi-site experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or a related field
- “Guest First” attitude towards hospitality including an insatiable need to create great experiences
- A broad range of technology experience including different property management systems
- Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders
- Strong analytical, strategic, and collaborative skills
- Comfort working in a very fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Focus and a willingness to do what it takes for us to reach the next stage
- Ability to understand and convey both business issues and technical concepts
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Capable of quickly learning new software systems
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of understanding regarding short-term rental and hospitality industries
- Must be US based and willing to work some weekends and some evenings full time
