General Duties:
- Provide leadership and collaborate regularly with staff in a cooperative manner in regard to field of expertise
- Engage and support a positive team culture, be an agent of change and advocate for those Avenues serves
- Ensure exceptional quality of marketing operations, social media management, and advertisements
- Understand, support, and comply with all Avenues policies and procedures
- Represent Avenues in a professional, ethical, and positive manner and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Report any unsafe condition, accident, illness or suspected neglect/abuse immediately
- Operate in a financially responsible manner and have a full understanding of fundraising and budgets
- Assist Fiscal Department with budgeting process in relation to marketing and special events
- Update job knowledge by independently participating in professional development opportunities, read trade publications to keep up-to-date with industry trends and complete all required staff training hours
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and venues
- Responsible for monthly board report to senior leadership
- Perform other duties as assigned
Specific Duties:
- Develop, maintain and execute a marketing campaign with clear objectives and goals, focusing on: community awareness about Avenues services to increase program participants and community financial support; community education and awareness of people with disabilities; increasing donors/donations; and increasing retail sales
- Collaborate frequently with managers and supervisors to establish and execute a marketing plan for their specific program, ensuring the integration of each program plan into the overall marketing strategy
- Represent Avenues publically during community events, social and business gatherings, networking opportunities, speaking engagements, and be a liaison between the media and Avenues
- Develop and build positive relationships with businesses and individuals and keep them apprised of agency needs
- Collaborate with other organizations within the community to build partnerships
- Create and maintain a planned-giving campaign with clear goals and objectives
- Research potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position Avenues to them, form new donor relationships on a regular basis, and build upon existing donor relationships
- Create and maintain promotional materials, focusing on branding; plan presentations and speaking engagements
- Regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets and create new methods to raise funds for Avenues
- Plan, coordinate, and execute special events by identifying expectations, creating and remaining under a budget, liaising with stakeholders, planning for potential problems, analyzing fundraising performance for effectiveness, and coordinating volunteer activities to ensure venues and vendors are booked, event set-up, tear-down, and follow-up processes are followed, and guests, payments, dining, schedules, seating, etc. are managed
- Develop, recruit for and engage a volunteer base and manage a special events committee to assist in planning
- Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and manage regular donor communications
- Maintain website and oversee creation/updates needed to stay an effective website, based on industry trends
- Oversee all social media associated with Avenues and research target market preferences to discover current trends
- Create engaging social media text, image and video content; design posts to sustain curiosity and create buzz
- Train designated staff to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way, while still overseeing the accounts
- Facilitate online conversations, respond to queries, and train designated staff to do the same
- Develop an optimal social media posting schedule, considering web traffic and engagement metrics
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing or a relevant field and two years of experience in a relevant field. Demonstrable experience in marketing strategies and branding management. Proven ability to form positive business relationships and perform cold calls. Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading marketing campaigns across channels that engage, educate and motivate. Familiarity with online content marketing, social media development strategies, website analytics tools, promotional creation software, and electronic marketing automation software. Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing. A sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and witty communication.
- Excellent leadership and collaboration abilities. Professional level verbal and written communication skills. Strong time management and organizational abilities. Above average computer skills. In-depth understanding of entire MS Office suite. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Valid PA Driver’s License. Acceptable MVR. Access to reliable/useable transportation. Acceptable results on all pre-employment testing, background checks, and renewal testing. Comply with all physical demands of the job (with or without reasonable accommodation). Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to work flexible hours as required, including some evenings. Must be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
