Senior Staff Accountant
$45-50/hr.
Hybrid - Santa Clarita, CA. 3 days a week in office, Tues-Thurs.
6 month contract

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a cruise line company. This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates who are comfortable working West Coast hours. This is a great opportunity for someone with 4 years of accounting experience.
- Participates in month-end financial close activities including analysis for journal entry preparation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and supporting documentation with focus on operational efficiencies and GAAP compliance on a monthly basis
- Monitors and processes workflows/systems to provide accurate and timely output, with focus on increased efficiencies and awareness of adequate controls. Makes recommendations for process improvement.
- Develops new desk-top procedures and maintains current desk-top procedures for assigned responsibilities.
- Conduct variance analysis on relevant balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Interact with both internal & external auditors, FP&A, operators, and respond to requests in a timely manner
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 4 year accounting degree
- Excel skills
- GAAP reporting framework
- Familiarity with IFRS
- Inter-company accounting
- FX accounting
