Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - Gas, Fuels, & Chemicals
Location: Virtual/Remote, with up to 20% travel
Position Type: 6 months Contract (Potential for extension or conversion)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer for our Gas, Fuels, & Chemicals business segment. This role offers virtual capability, with occasional required travel and the possibility for future conversion based on proximity to an office location. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in consulting, designing, engineering, and overseeing projects ranging from LNG facilities to gasification and ammonia/fertilizers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a technical specialist or in a supervisory role, actively developing and applying advanced engineering techniques and approaches to unique engineering problems.
- Oversee and potentially supervise engineering staff on medium to high complexity projects.
- Engage closely with multi-disciplinary teams to develop I&C engineering and design deliverables.
- Design, procure, configure, and troubleshoot various process control systems.
- Select, size, and specify various field instruments and systems.
- Participate in HAZOP/LOPA sessions and address resulting action items.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 11 years in the gas, fuels, and chemicals field, with at least 7 years in engineering, design, or operations of LNG. Additional experience in related fields is a plus.
- Skills: Proficiency in interfacing with large engineering teams, knowledge of SmartPlant Instrumentation, MS Office tools, and advanced understanding of engineering design principles.
- Certifications: PE license preferred or the ability to acquire one within 6 months from hire.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- Language: English proficiency (read, write, speak).
- Legal Requirements: Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search.
