Job Description
Avery Dennison is seeking a Global Total Rewards Specialist, Executive Compensation. Reporting to the Sr. Consultant, Executive Compensation, completes key deliverables that support the design, decisions, maintenance and evolution of the company’s global executive compensation program, including base salary philosophy, short and long term incentive plans. This position will work closely with Legal, Finance and HR Leadership coordinating the global executive compensation programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and implementation of executive compensation programs and policies. Supporting the strategic assessment of program effectiveness and modeling of potential program changes.
- Supports the management of the global executive compensation programs in coordination with the Sr. Consultant, executive compensation and other internal partners as an end-to-end process, including administration, communications, SOX compliance, policy updates, and reporting.
- Contribute to the material development for the Talent and Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. Drafting Senior Leadership and board level presentations and reports.
- Support the preparation of the Compensation Discussion and Analysis (CD&A) and other executive compensation documentation necessary for the annual proxy statement.
- Collaborate with Finance on the development and communication of financial performance measures, as they relate to executive programs and support ongoing monitoring/measurement/communication.
- Evaluate executive role criteria, prepare compensation analysis and recommendations for potential new hires/promotions.
- Conduct the global benchmarking and leveling of all executives to ensure consistency while maintaining internal and external equity.
- Support the annual compensation process, including recommendations for salary adjustments and short and long-term incentive plans. Manage the processing of changes for internal and external systems, manage file uploads, and prepare employee memos.
- Manage day-to-day operations and interactions with external equity vendor.
- Providing compensation support for the organization as needed (e.g. special projects, broad-based compensation, etc).
- Ownership of the SOX process for executive compensation, ensuring all the controls are in place, testing is completed and signed off by the due dates.
- Interface with Legal, Accounting, Tax, Audit and other necessary functions regarding compensation programs to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with applicable law and regulations.
- Prepare and support documentation and communication to ensure understanding of the programs by HR business partners, executive leadership and plan participants (including the Executive Portfolios, Stock Ownership Review, and LTI Quarterly Updates).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field preferred.
- 5 years related experience, executive compensation and international exposure preferred.
- CCP and CEP certification are a plus.
- Self-directed with critical thinking ability.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing, and matrix environment; ability to work independently and in team environments.
- Accuracy and attention to detail; strong analytical skills and ability to gather key insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
- Skilled in coordinating and prioritizing work to balance various competing responsibilities.
- Good interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
- Skilled in communicating effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Travel: 2-3 weeks annually, may be more during the onboarding period.
The salary range for this position is $60300 - $90,100/ year.
