Summary
The Scheduler / Recruiter is responsible for the Nursing Staff schedule, working with Nurses for schedule changes, Time off, and Call-outs. Working with staff to maintain coverage for all shifts and reduce the number of overtime and agency hours. Communicate with DON, Administrator, and Staff development on Staff issues. Weekly updates on staffing needs, meeting with DON, HR, Staff Development, and Administrator.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Human Resource Manager and DON when scheduling modified work duty employees in accordance with work restrictions and facility policy.
- Complete monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage on units using OnShift.
- Complete and post worksheets/ Time schedules. Coordinate variances with the DON.
- Perform miscellaneous duties pertaining to staffing and assist nursing supervisory personnel as necessary
- Answer employee calls regarding staffing/scheduling functions. Prepare written correspondence as necessary
- Assist in obtaining nursing staff information needed for daily posting requirements.
- Responsible for posting daily census
- Assist on the units when necessary with residents
- Attend management meetings
- Assist with reception, appointments and scheduling family visits
- Maintain accurate documentation and coding on billing of supplies and agency invoices.
- Track equipment rentals (ex. Wheelchair and mattress)
- This position may have access to protected health information in the patients medical and financial records to conduct job duties
Basic Knowledge and Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong oral and written communication
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.
Required License or certification
- Preferred LNA experience and/or license
Required Experience:
- Preferred 1-year experience in Healthcare/LTC
Work hours: M-F 8:00AM – 4:00PM
