Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR Specialist to join our team. This is a Part Time position with a flexible schedule of 20 - 24 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations, and maintaining accurate records. In addition, this individual will also provide support to the HR department in areas such as employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, training and development, safety, employee recognition, policy administration, and recruiting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Process and manage payroll for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely distribution of paychecks and compliance with all state and federal laws.
· Maintain employee payroll records and ensure that all data is accurate and up-to-date.
· Maintain knowledge of current payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
· Ensure that all HR-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date, including employee files, job descriptions, and performance evaluations.
· Provide exceptional customer service to employees and respond to inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies in a timely and professional manner.
· Participates in HR and payroll audits as needed.
· Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
· Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
· Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
· Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
· Assist with recruiting and hiring of qualified job applicants by creating and sending out offer letters/agreements, conducting background checks, and employee eligibility verifications.
· Perform onboarding and offboarding tasks for new and terminating employees.
· Assist with new hire orientations and employee recognition programs.
· Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
· Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
· One year of payroll processing experience using an HRIS system.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
· Once year of human resource management experience preferred.
· PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
Experience using ADP.
