Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize and direct the work of cooks and other team members engaged in the procurement, storage, preparation and serving of food
- Assist in preparation of budget estimates and justifications for the food service program and maintain cost controls
- Plan and direct the ordering, receiving and accounting of all food products, supplies and equipment for food operation
- Review and evaluate existing operational methods and procedures of food service program for effectiveness and efficiency, initiating changes as necessary to ensure compliance with federal, state and county laws, rules and regulations
- Interview, select, manage and develop hourly team members
- Oversee the food safety aspects of the food service department to ensure full compliance with federal, state and other regulatory agencies
- Participate in the development and adherence of policies and procedures that direct food preparation, distribution and service, purchasing, sanitation, safety practices, performance improvement and team member education and development
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as necessary
- A formal culinary degree is preferred
- 3-5 years of food service chef/management experience
- Prior experience leading, motivating and developing teams
- Proven ability in meeting and maintaining budget goals is necessary
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of others
