GP Farm Associate

General Responsibilities :
- Feeding and restocking for the following day.
- Picking up and incinerating mortality
- Humanely euthanizing birds as needed
- Walking in the chicken house multiple times a day to gather floor / slat eggs on breeder farms
- Gathering and sorting eggs putting them in the cooler at the proper intervals on breeder farms
- Performing routine maintenance
- Maintaining a clean farm both inside and outside
- Shower in / shower out and follow all biosecurity procedures
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications :
- Able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
- Routine handling and interacting with live poultry
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
- Standing for extended periods of time (6 hours)
- Grip, grasp or twist using hands and wrists
- Bend and stoop repetitively throughout out shift
- Prolonged exposure to dry and dusty environments
- Work cooperatively with a team
- Strong sense of personal responsibility
- Take accountability for individual performance
- Withstand ongoing presence of farm related smells or foul odors
- Extreme climate exposure both hot and cold
- Working in damp and / or wet climate, PPE provided
