Our more than 50 years of success is the result of our employees who have dedicated themselves to providing unmatched quality, service and safety in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul.   SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Mechanical Design Engineer develops engineering design and drawings for details, assemblies, and installations to support the aircraft modification and Parts Manufacture Approval (PMA) programs.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and designs aircraft structure and interior parts to support the required aircraft reconfiguration. Develops designs that meet the technical, schedule, and cost objectives. Researches aircraft configurations, technical specifications, and/or Statement of Work to ensure proper interface between aircraft structure, systems, and interior products. Develops Engineering Orders and Work Instructions for aircraft installations. Participates in the development of Request for Quotation (RFQ) required to complete the reconfiguration program by providing scope, hours, and parts for the applicable RFQs. Provides written technical accomplishment instructions for aircraft modifications or repairs to maintenance, customer, and regulatory authorities as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering or related field required. Minimum 2 years or more of relevant aerospace experience required. OEM airframe, system, and interior design practices experience preferred. Aircraft interior and/or VIP retrofit experience preferred.   PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.   Compensation: The full base pay range for this position is $68,000 – $124,000 annually.   Benefits   ATS offers employees a wide range of benefit options to support the health and financial security of their families.   Health: To give employees flexibility to select the coverage that best meets their family’s needs, ATS offers a choice of comprehensive medical/pharmacy plans, dental and vision plans, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, and voluntary benefits including accident and critical illness.   Financial: The ATS 401(k) plan includes employer matching contributions and a variety of investment options to help employees reach their financial goals.
