JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Principal- Butler Elementary School
Job Goal: To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student in accordance with Massachusetts frameworks.
Supervision: Reports to Superintendent.
Education, Work Experience, and Licensure:
Required: Department of Elementary and Secondary Education License as a Principal. At least three years of successful teaching experience. Master’s Degree.
Preferred: Two years of administrative experience. A master’s
degree with a major in educational administration.
Performance Responsibilities:
Performance Responsibilities:
Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school.
Supervises all professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and support personnel attached to the school.
Assists in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating of the school’s professional staff.
Supervises the school’s teaching process.
Approves the master teaching schedule, mentors and any special assignments.
Orients newly assigned staff members and assists in their development, as appropriate.
Plans, organizes, and directs implementation of all school activities.
Assists in the management and preparation of the school budget.
Supervises the maintenance of all required building records and reports.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
