What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager position at Axalta?
Drive execution of the account strategy while ensuring customer intimacy and satisfying the customer’s business needs. The Sales Manager for Volvo Trucks NA is responsible for ensuring operational alignment within the account.
Responsibilities
- Set and achieve specific target goals for the customer, specifically revenue growth, variable margins, selling expenses, non-productive inventory, customer demand forecast accuracy and past dues
- Coordinate technical and product effort to drive new product introductions
- Travel to customer locations to develop and maintain effective customer relationships
- Supports sales effort by establishing, implementing, and managing sales policies, and approving negotiations of sale contracts within established financial controls and DOA’s (Delegation of Authority)
- Analyze sales statistics to establish priorities, manage performance, and assist sales teams in promoting sales
- Review marketing and competitive analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of Axalta
- Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product
- Coordinate liaison between customer and Axalta functions
- Analyze and control expenditures of region and districts to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Assist other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications
- Prepare periodic sales presentations showing sales volume and potential sales
- Recommend expenditures and appropriations for research and development work (LWR’s).
- Work closely with IT to drive new business developments - including but not limited to e-coat, new technologies and other Axalta offerings.
- Partner with Product Manager to manage product compliance standards
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in science or business or an equivalent combination of education or experience; Bachelor of Science plus
- 8 years of automotive, chemical or related industry experience to include a combination of sales, technical and marketing experience displaying finance and business acumen
- Experienced at strategic account planning; led negotiation and management of complex accounts
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization and customers
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate cross functional business teams
- Previous management experience is required
- Knowledge of the functions and organizations, which impact customer relations, such as manufacturing/operations, Technical, Marketing and finance, is required
- Travel requirement - 10%

Pay: $125,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
