Behavior Therapist / Registered Behavior Technician

As a Behavior Therapist with Axis for Autism, you work with skilled Clinical Supervisors (BCBA) as you interact directly with your clients in clinic, home, school and community settings to implement established behavioral treatment plans based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implementing evidence-based treatment plans may involve decreasing maladaptive behaviors, teaching adaptive skills, communication skills, self-care skills, and social skills to improve an individual’s quality of life.
Your Role at Axis for Autism:
- Passionate about helping others succeed and thrive (experience not required — we’ll pay for training and help you get RBT certified!).
- Provide direct client care in one-on-one and group settings in clinic and home settings.
- A compassionate approach to care with the flexibility to roll with changes to meet the needs of our clients.
- Follow behavior reduction and behavioral skill acquisition protocols.
- Consistently implement treatment plans under BCBA supervision.
- Collect, record and summarize data on observable client’s behavior.
- Ensure that client’s session notes are entered into the medical records on a timely basis and in accordance with established organizational procedures.
- Effectively communicate with caregivers and /or school personnel regarding client progress as instructed by supervising clinician.
- Assists supervising clinician with preparation of client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition.
- Regularly engage with supervisor and management to provide pertinent feedback regarding client sessions, and request support.
- Comfortable using different technologies and software programs, as well as data collection applications.
- Understand and adhere to HIPAA policies.
Who You Are:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university (Preferred).
- At least one (1) year of related professional experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other developmental disabilities.
- Passionate about helping individuals with developmental disabilities to reach their best potential.
- Positive and energetic attitude, patience and desire to grow in the field of ABA.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Knowledge and/or experience in the field of early intervention (preferred but not required).
- Solid interpersonal skills required to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to be flexible and respond to varying situations, critical thinking skills and problem solving.
- Ability to serve culturally and linguistically diverse families in low and high social economic status areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to frequently bend, lift (up to 30 lbs), squat, sit, stand, and/or run (with or without reasonable accommodations).
- RBT certification (preferred but not required)
- Bilingual (preferred but not required)

Pay: $19.50 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Shifts are Monday to Friday
- 4 hour shifts (7:45am - 11:45am or 3pm - 7pm blocks)
- After school
