Job Summary and Opportunity
Lead credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions for middle market companies supported by private equity ownership, and selective fund finance transactions.
Responsibilities
- Lead credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions for middle market companies supported by private equity ownership, and selective fund finance transactions. Specifically:
- LBO Financing
- Acquisition Financing
- Debt Refinancing
- Recapitalizations
- Capital Call Facilities
- Prepare credit write ups/pre-screen memos and present to senior management
- Draft and negotiate term sheets with private equity firms
- Assist in screening and structuring new loan opportunities
- Determine a customer’s eligibility for financing and related credit risk
- Spread financial statements, complete ratios, trends, and cash flow analysis, provide clear and concise written financial analysis supporting views of the borrowers’ financial condition
- Analyze credit worthiness of prospective borrowers and guarantors
- Manage accounts post close, including independent review and management of waivers, amendments, and modifications, and financial spreading
- Perform industry and geographical research and other due diligence for transactions located throughout the United States
- Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple prospects and deal closings
- Manage the legal documentation process with internal and external legal counsel
- Perform site visits of prospective clients
- Work with deposit and treasury management team to setup account functionality for prospective transaction structures and borrower operational needs
- Ad-hoc project management to implement strategic and operational initiatives within the group
- Apply current credit policies to all credit decisions
- Help develop procedures and work with technology and project management groups to further develop group scalability
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 10 year's supporting commercial lending
- Bank credit training
- Experience working at an OCC regulated bank
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to self-manage multiple and/or shifting priorities to produce professional quality work under time constraints
- Capable of working independently and in a group environment
- Strong problem recognition and resolution skills
