What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Services Representative position at Aya Healthcare?
Aya Healthcare is hiring Patient Service Reps with experience in healthcare and medical office settings! This is a 13-week contract assignment with a dynamic health system in Pasadena, CA.
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Shift: Must be available between 08:00 am- 5:00 pm
COVID-19: Vaccinations and Booster shot are required.
Onsite/in-person position
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with CS-Link/Epic or Allscripts EMR
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
- 2 year of recent experience working in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
- Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
- 2 years of patient services, admitting, or medical receptionist experience in the healthcare field.
Job Duties:
- Primary point of contact for patient relations in person and by phone
- Greet patients and assist in resolving patient concerns and escalating as appropriate
- Check patients in/out and collect co-payments, give receipts, and reconcile payments
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information in Allscripts
- Schedule appointments and complete patient registration
- Process and track referrals and authorizations for various insurance types
- Handle patient/provider correspondence
- Explains polices, procedures, or services to patients
- Sanitize workspace using provided supplies and following department guidelines
