The Position:
The Estimator is responsible for producing accurate quotes and estimates based on initial project bid request details. This position works closely will our independent sales representatives, along with Project Management, Production and Sales to develop preliminary and finished solutions and proposals for clients. This position requires a highly talented person who enjoys creative challenges in Engineering, Design, and Fabrication. Our ideal candidate will follow established estimating practices, read and interpret construction documents and CAD drawings, and communicate effectively with all associated parties.
Primary Responsibilities:
Gather information and reviewing overall opportunity.
Assists in the qualification of resources required during pre-design and pre-construction.
Communicate with Sales to verify client vision and budget as needed.
Identifies all materials, labor and time requirements by reviewing construction designs, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
Contacts outside vendors and collects needed quotes for project materials and/or labor to provide accurate estimates.
Prepares estimate including all descriptive and numerical information.
Contributes to team effort by working with Project Manager and Engineering on sold projects to maintain budget as sold.
Maintains technical knowledge by reviewing ongoing and changing production methods and material.
General Attributes:
Understand, review, and coordinate architectural/engineering drawings and proposals.
Knowledge of basic math using formulas
Proficient use of CAD software.
Knowledge of Interior Construction materials and architectural products.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook)
Knowledge of cost vs. sell principles when dealing with project profitability.
Knowledge of cost association of materials and labor involved in project estimating.
Ability to work with others, and independently to provide an accurate estimate in a timely manner.

Experience / Education Expectation:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
Experience in construction, design-build or contract interior renovation, surrounding budgeting, and document interpretation.
Experience working with architects, general contractors, dealer representatives and commercial end users.
