Responsibilities
Job Function - General:
- Responsible for the preparation of 160 sales and use tax returns including Canadian GST/HST/QST/PST across 3 entities.
- Maintains records of tax filings or payments. Recommends financial actions that may lessen the organization's tax liability while meeting organizational goals and maintaining compliance with laws and regulations.
- Keeps up-to-date with tax legislation updates and suggests responses to changes in tax law, regulations, and guidelines.
- Drafts responses to tax notices and tax audit information requests. Assists with audit defense as needed
- Ensures effective utilization of available technology to streamline data gathering and analysis data.
- Experience with ERP and Tax engines such as SAP and/or Sovos is preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheets.
- Provide indirect tax support including customer invoice inquiries, contract inquiries, review of valid exemption certificates and tax determination based on state and local regulations.
- Work with our Accounting Team to ensure all sales & use tax liabilities and payments are recorded accurately during month and quarterly end close.
- Support the growth and development of sales & use tax team members, helping associates meet their professional goals.

Qualifications
Education and Professional Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
04-06 years related experience required.
Certification:
Applicable industry/professional certification preferred.

Requires full working knowledge of relevant business practices and procedures in professional field. Uses standard theories, principles and concepts and integrates them to propose a course of action.
Supervision Given and Received:
Works under general supervision. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals. May periodically assist in orienting, training, and/or reviewing the work of other peers.
