About the role
The Customer Service Representative supports various customers (internal and external) by responding to general inquiries, quote creation, order conversion, and supplier sourcing. The most successful customer service representative has excellent communication skills that enables them to connect with consumers and create a solution-based experience. This position reports to the Customer Service or Operations Manager.
- Fulltime, Hours typically 8-5 or 7:30 to 4:30
- Overtime can be required

- Salary range $46,000 Minimum 5 years of experience Monthly Commission
Responsibilities
- Direct contact with customers via phone, email, or sales counter
- Responds to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders for standard products and services, requests for prices and quotations and handle customer credits and complaints.
- Fill requests for product literature or other information.
- Expedite orders from vendors to ensure that order promise dates are met.
- Coordinate activities with internal company departments, vendors, and common carriers.
- Access, update and maintain records for individual accounts.
- Quote prices, terms of sales, availability, delivery dates and related information and process orders.
- Resolve any product issues customer may have related to quality or mis-shipments.
- Service walk-in counter customers for pickups, product identification and order entry.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Directly assisting the account managers
- Employee will attend weekly meetings, work with others as a team, occasionally deliver parts to a customer, and occasionally assist with warehouse functions.
- Rotational “On call” customer support assistance
- Perform duties to provide technical and product assistance to customers in order to generate new and repeat sales.
- Assess the customer’s application and suggest products or services to best suit the customer’s needs
Skills Needed
- Relationship builder with external and internal customers
- Strong verbal skills, both face-to-face and when utilizing phone
- Effective written communicator (email/text)
- Technical aptitude to understand customer’s application and offer product solutions
- Utilize manufacturing product catalogs and websites to identify and source products
- Ability to convert fractions to decimal equivalents and metric to English dimensions
- Efficient order entry computer skills and ability to utilize credit card processing software/hardware
Education Requirements
- HS Diploma/GED request
- Knowledge of Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Successful candidates must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and have an acceptable 3-year Motor Vehicle Report as may be required by current company policy.
Employee Duties can require
- Stand, walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and be able to sit and climb or balance
- Handle or feel, reach with both hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds
- Use of various measuring tools, basic math skills and basic computer skills.
- Drive various vehicles to include, trucks and forklifts.
Working Environment
- Infrequent exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards, chemicals, or physical risk, which require following basic safety precautions to include the use of PPE.
- For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in typical office environment.
