Job Responsibilities
- Purchases items complex or customer in nature, at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements
- Prepares and/or reviews purchase orders and work orders consistent with past experience and in accordance with established rules and policies
- Expedites and coordinates delivery of needed items
- Maintains MRP system data for own area of responsibility
- Provides follow-up to insure uninterrupted flow of raw materials or supplies
- 4 year degree appropriate for position or 8 years equivalent training or experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in a purchasing function
- Competent in use of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and SAP
- Previous experience in negotiating contracts and pricing
