Summary / Objective
The Sales Consultant is responsible for the overall customer experience by ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction while accomplishing goals and hitting sales targets.
Essential Functions

Meets with customers in a sales environment to drive product sales and knowledge.- Assesses customer needs and provides assistance and information on products.
- Answers and resolves customer questions, issues and concerns. Informs Sales Manager of any unresolved customer issues in a timely manner.
- Performs customer follow up to ensure expectations are met.
- Builds and promotes strong, long-lasting customer, vendor and supplier relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
- Creates new accounts and updates accounts in company software; update records with details of customer inquiries, complaints, comments, pictures, files, etc.
- Prepares cost analysis and project estimates by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
- Prepares customer quotes, proposals, bids, sales orders, work orders, invoices and pay applications and distributes to the appropriate person and/or department.
- May act as Purchasing for custom and specialty projects.
- Regularly achieves goals and sales targets on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
- Assists Production Manager with implementation of project schedules when necessary.
- Oversees life span of assigned jobs and projects; shares pertinent customer information with Production Team; offers solutions based on customer-needs.
- Maintains assigned company vehicle ensuring preventative maintenance and routine checks are performed in a timely manner.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending departmental meetings and educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies and associations.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position operates in both a professional office environment as well as in outdoor weather conditions. This role is often exposed to elements such as extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, ice, etc. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. This position regularly requires long hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during business hours, although some travel outside the local area may be required.
Required Education and Experience
1. Associate’s degree or equivalent. Work experience may be substituted on a year by year basis.
2. Minimum 2 years of related industry experience.
3. Proven track record of sales performance metrics.
