About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Independent Testing Officer in Corporate Risk in the Cross Commercial Banking Portfolio (Cross-CB) Independent Testing and Validation (IT&V) team. The Cross-CB IT&V team is responsible for the development and execution of review activities across Commercial Banking in alignment with the Risk Management Framework, and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies. This position will primarily be responsible for testing of Risk and Control Self Assessments, Issue Validations, Emerging Risks, and Incremental Compliance Testing in Commercial Banking. This Lead Independent Testing Officer will be accountable for developing and executing independent operational and compliance risk control testing. The selected individual will be responsible for managing testing engagements, leading one or more concurrent control engagements and guiding risk professionals. Strong business acumen and experience will be a determining factor in selection. Successful candidates will be articulate, thought leaders, and possess demonstrated leadership capability; they will be impressive in their inter-personal effectiveness, regarding their accomplishments, and with a proven ability to engage and influence senior management and business and risk partners. In this role, you will: Manage and lead complex initiatives executing moderate to high risk or complex review activities and engagements in a matrixed environment Ensure effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks and controls Make decisions in complex situations requiring solid understanding of risk management framework and the risk and control environment that influence and lead enterprise testing to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives Collaborate and consult with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies to resolve risk related topics Manage issue validations including issue monitoring Provide status updates to key stakeholders on programs and specific reviews where warranted Lead project teams and mentor individuals Required Qualifications, US: 5 years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications: Knowledge and understanding of regulatory agencies: Federal Reserve and OCC Specialized knowledge or prior regulatory compliance testing or review experience Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry: compliance, risk management, or audit operations Experience reviewing testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls; and identifying issues resulting from internal and/or external compliance examinations Experience testing policy, procedures, control and business process testing Experience creating, executing, and documenting compliance, control, and business process testing Ability to simultaneously lead multiple projects Experience leading, training, and providing feedback to staff and corresponding managers Critical Thinking and Analytical skills Demonstrated success with influencing business units to identify, formulate and implement processes/procedures to mitigate risk Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certified Financial Crimes Specialist (CFCS) BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, finance, or accounting Job Locations: Charlotte, NC Irving, TX West Des Moines, IA Minneapolis, MN Tempe, AZ St Louis, MO This position offers a hybrid work schedule Required location(s) listed above.
