Job Overview: The UI/UX Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing a user-centric interface for the GSA Workplace Reservation System. This role involves creating an intuitive and consistent user experience across various devices and ensuring that the system meets the specific needs of GSA users.
Key Responsibilities:
- User Interface Design: Develop a comprehensive and user-friendly interface that minimizes the learning curve and enhances user engagement.
- User Experience Optimization: Ensure a clear and consistent UI design that offers user personalization options and maintains a seamless experience across desktop, mobile, and tablet platforms.
- Customization: Configure the application’s color scheme and labels to match GSA’s guidelines and specific terminology.
- Interactive Floor Plans: Create interactive floor plans that display real-time workspace availability and allow users to easily navigate and identify workspaces.
- User Feedback Integration: Conduct user research, prepare user personas, and develop user stories to inform design decisions and improve usability.
- Testing and Validation: Perform usability testing to ensure the interface meets user needs and make iterative improvements based on feedback.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and project management teams to ensure the interface aligns with technical requirements and project goals.
- Documentation: Provide detailed documentation of UI/UX designs, configurations, and user feedback.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in UI/UX design and engineering, preferably in a government or federal contracting environment.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Experience with responsive design and creating interfaces for multiple device platforms.
- Excellent visual design skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing relevant UI/UX design projects.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in UI/UX design are a plus.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with FedRAMP compliance and IT security best practices.
