Position Type: Full Time

A Commercial Dept. Manager is responsible for effectively supervising estimators and project managers to maximize efficiency, accurate pricing and complete installations according to company expectations regarding quality workmanship and safety.
Staff Management:
Recruit, train, mentor and retain a dependable and knowledgeable workforce
Meet weekly with estimators and project managers to review the previous and next week’s schedules
Determine training needs for roofing crews; safety, quality and customer satisfaction
Partner with Commercial Service Manager regarding policy development and procedures to ensure consistency in repairs, maintenance and service
Learn and teach best practices for installations by fully participating in manufacturer training
The ability to identify and correct unsafe conditions according to Company and OSHA standards.
Review job performance for Commercial Dept. employees
Create and maintains a prospective customer database
Stay current with building codes and materials; use expertise to prepare accurate and competitive proposals and contracts
Preparation of operating reports such as budget expenditures and statistical records of performance data
Track status of contracted jobs
Manage Department Finances:
Review jobs, including labor hours and materials invoices for projects
Review and analyze budget reports and prepare and develop budget modifications and recommendations
Review, submit and give final approval to accounts receivable for all projects
Monitor accounts receivables for the operations department and keep accounts current
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Have and maintain a valid PA driver’s license.
Solid computer skills.
Physical Demands:
Able to climb ladders and work at heights.
Ability to lift materials, set up ladders and to walk roofs.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, including measuring tapes and hand tools and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to reach above shoulder heights or below the waist.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Ability to walk up and down a minimum of two flights of steps.
