A personal assistant, also referred to as personal aide (PA) or personal secretary (PS), is a job title describing a person who assists a specific person with their daily business or personal task.

We are looking for a compassionate personal care assistant to support the health care professional. Your duties will include performing basic housekeeping duties.

To ensure success as a personal care assistant, you should possess experience in a similar role and knowledge of best practices in providing personal care.

Personal Care Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Providing immobile and recovering with support, and comfort.
  • Medications, administering treatments, and assisting with exercise routines as prescribed.
  • Providing support with personal hygiene.
  • Performing basic housekeeping duties, including cleaning, dry cleaning.
  • Assisting health care professional with household finances, bills, and payments, as well as running errands.
  • Accompanying health care professional on outings and arranging transportation to medical appointments.
  • Providing mobility support, including assistance.
  • Maintaining a hygienic, tidy, and safe environment.

An assistant helps with time and daily management, of meetings, correspondence, and note-taking. The role of a personal assistant can be varied, such as answering phone calls, taking notes, scheduling meetings, emailing, texts, etc.

In business or personal contexts, assistants provide services that relieve his or her employer from the stress of tasks that are associated with managing one's personal and/or business life. They assist with a variety of life management tasks, including running errands, arranging travel, finance, and shopping.

An Assistant often acts as the manager's first point of contact with people from both inside and outside the organization.

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • devising and maintaining office systems, including data management and filing;
  • arranging travel and accommodation and, occasionally, traveling with the manager to take notes or dictation at meetings or to provide general assistance during presentations;
  • screening phone calls, inquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate;
  • meeting and greeting visitors at all levels of seniority;
  • organizing and maintaining diaries and making appointments;
  • dealing with incoming email, faxes and post, often corresponding on behalf of the manager;
  • taking dictation and minutes;
  • carrying out background research and presenting findings;
  • producing documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations;
  • organizing and attending meetings and ensuring the manager is well prepared for meetings;
  • liaising with clients, suppliers and other staff.

Many PA's also have their own personal workload and responsibilities. The scope of the PA's role can be extensive and additional duties may include:

  • carrying out specific projects and research;
  • taking on some of the manager's responsibilities and working more closely with management;
  • being involved in decision-making processes.

Duties:
- Assist the doctor in providing medical care to patients
- Greet and check-in patients at the front desk
- Collect and update patient information in the medical records system
- Perform medical billing and coding tasks accurately
- Handle retail sales of medical products and services
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
- Provide support in handling phone calls, emails, and other inquiries
- Ensure compliance with all relevant medical regulations and standards

Experience:
- Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred
- Familiarity with medical billing, coding, and records management systems (Epic experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of retail math for sales transactions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in pediatrics is desirable but not required
