Our mission is to welcome and educate our local community and give them a fresh choice for their medical cannabis experience. We are opening multiple dispensaries in Ohio in early 2023 and we are looking for passionate talented people to join us on the ground floor and help us build. Postion Summary
The Security Associate is responsible for the safety and security of all store assets, premises, visitors and employees. The Security Associate performs all security duties while providing exemplary service to all patients and visitors. All work is performed in a manner that amplifies the Mission and Values of Backroad Wellness and creates a uniquely exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities

- Control patient access to the premises by checking IDs, verifying patient documents required for entry, and allowing access to reception.
- Control vendor and visitor access to the premises by checking IDs, confirming eligibility for entrance, keeping accurate visit logs, and allowing access to the premises.
- Make patients, vendors and visitors feel welcome, greet them promptly, and provide exceptional service in all interactions.
- Help patients, vendors and visitors understand the rules and regulations for premises access and dispensing cannabis.
- Effectively address and resolve escalated patient, vendor or visitor issues that threaten the safety or security of the premises or any of the people onsite.
- Monitor surveillance and security cameras
- Patrol facility and surrounding area when not working the front door post
- Provide safety escorts for employees, visitors and customers, as needed
- Maintain vigilance and awareness of the general activities occurring on the premises and observe, report, or intervene, as appropriate, with any suspicious activities.
- Follow Emergency Action Plans and perform duties required of Security Associates during emergencies, including sounding alarms, and notifying the appropriate emergency response agency.
- Perform store opening and closing duties
- Perform all duties in compliance with company policies and state and local regulations.
- Address any safety or security hazards identified.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is generally performed in a busy dispensary and requires frequent contact and interaction with patients, vendors, and visitors.
- Hours and shifts worked per week are varied and include mornings, nights, afternoons, and weekends. Shifts vary depending on hours of operation and business needs.
- Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, iPad or tablet, receipt printer, and other point of sale equipment.
- Frequent reaching and grabbing.
- Frequent standing and moving for prolonged periods of time
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, using ladders, and moving up to 50 lbs.
Education and Experience
- 1 years of security experience or in a first responder role
- 1 years of in-person customer service experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior law enforcement, or military experience (preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Must pass required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the Ohio cannabis industry
- Must possess any state security and guard credentials.
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must be certified in CPR and First Aid
- Must receive and maintain a current and active medical marijuana support employee license.
