Sandblasts heavy equipment using spray guns, sandblasting equipment and other necessary tools to prep an area. There are openings on 1st and 2nd shift currently so please make aware if not available for one or the other. General Possess brush and roll painting skills Trouble shooting equipment used Perform a layout on a job Know abrasive blast specifications Disassemble and assemble equipment Know how to use different sizes of blast nozzles Wrap jobs and compartments using one of the following materials: polyurethane (plastic) /fire retardant paper/ herkuline material Power Tool Surface Prep Use the needle gun, deck crawler and power tool (pneumatic or electric) for surface prep Remove existing coating systems Sand an area to prep for painting Know surface prep standards including SP10 (near white blast), SP5 (white blast) and SP6 (commercial blasting) Troubleshoot equipment used including SP10 (near white blast), SP5 (white blast) and SP6 (commercial blasting) Mechanical Testing valves on a machine to ensure that it is operational Blast Pot Test valves on a blast pot to ensure that it is operational Know the different types of blast pots ( 4 banker, 8 banker, and single banker) Start and shut down a compressor Load and shut down a blast pot Adjust shot and air based on the media and know what media to use on different metals (for example, Black grit (Steel Stainless Steel), Garnet (Aluminum and any soft metal requiring a profile) and glass bead (delicate metals that don’t require a profile) Accurately assess equipment and diagnose all issues Repair equipment, if repair is not electrical Required Training Quality critical activities Strippers and Painting training Secondary skills that are preferred but not required: Basic Painter Skills for cross-training Spray Airless Painting Completed the spray application training Operate the spray pump Know the differences and how to operate Conventional Airless and Plural Component Airless spray pumps

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
A mechanic must demonstrate an advanced understanding of job responsibilities with thorough efficiency with limited supervision. Ability to read and interpret instructions, follow directions and adhere to safety procedures. Minimum experience required is 3-5 years, preferably 5-10 years.

High school Diploma/GED required

• Must be able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions
• Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form
• Must be able to calculate and understand units of measure
• Must know how to measure using a scale and tape measure

Must be able to wear basic protective PPE
